How to get to Alicante?

To travel from abroad or from distant parts of the country, the fastest option is by plane. A large number of airlines operate to Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport on a daily basis. To get from the airport to the city centre, the only public service available is the bus line LÍNEA C6 Aeropuerto (ALC) – Alicante, which operates from Monday to Sunday 365 days a year. Along the route, this bus stops at different strategic points in the city, such as Alfonso X El Sabio, Plaza de los Luceros and Vázquez de Mella, which have connections with the TRAM lines L1-L2-L3-L4. The regular C6 bus ticket costs €3.85 and can be purchased on the spot. The bus stop is located on the first floor of the airport, just outside the main building, and the timetable can be consulted at the following link: https://alicante.vectalia.es/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2023/09/version-online57.pdf.

The airport also has a taxi rank that connects to the city centre for approximately €20 for an estimated journey time of 15 minutes. There are two taxi ranks in the terminal; the one that picks up passengers leaving the airport is located in the “Arrivals” area on the P0 floor. Taxis with passengers arriving at the airport stop on the “Departures” area, on floor P2. The contact telephone number is: (+34) 965 427 777.

Another option for travelling to Alicante is by train, as the city has good connections with many parts of Spain, including the capital, a journey time of around 2½ hours thanks to the high-speed options. The central stop in the city is in the city centre, and from there you can walk to the accommodation you have chosen, take a bus to the area in question, or take a taxi to the door, whose stops are at the exit of the terminal.

Finally, the remaining option for getting to the city is by bus, whose central station is located on the seafront, just a few minutes from the centre. Again, the options for getting to your accommodation are mainly by foot or taxi, depending on the distance to your destination.
